type='text'>She's getting so big!

It seems like Emma has been growing up so fast recently. She's started really trying to crawl and I think she is going to be able to soon. She scoots her knees up under her belly and pushes up on her elbows but then she ends up moving backwards if she goes anywhere at all. I keep trying to get it on video but she wont do it whenever I have the camera out. This was the best I could get. She has also started putting her hands out in the air and kicking with her feet so she looks like she is trying to fly. I'm not quite sure what she is doing.
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v20.nonxt3.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D440b0427c1e7418e%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1332440357%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D107D257DF2A0D2BE51907EE6BF9EECED15209557.B0D376A3C6284CC44D10565588DFB20FA08240A%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D440b0427c1e7418e%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DLopiaNBgGkztjpz8bTYj279Pv_k&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

She has also started eating really well so we've started feeding her 3 meals a day. She loves food and gets so excited when I get the spoon out. We've been feeding her little pieces of whatever we're eating which she is so thrilled about. A few of the things she's tried are bread, avocado, rice, strawberries and potatoes. She spit the rice right back out even though I mushed it up with my fingers before giving it to her. I tried (again) a couple nights ago to feed her peas but she does not like the green stuff. She will quit eating anything after that because she doesn't trust me any more. So it took us a few meals before she would willing eat from the spoon again. She obviously got her fathers picky-ness.
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v20.nonxt5.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Df7260de86ff7af27%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1332440357%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D67D104DF48C760B8FC2AB25B3A7AFB4CA9A09467.6C14577289A366F73FB36C7944299E738CD02FF%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Df7260de86ff7af27%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3De0xT76BrxIXna7zxM9wk1GE62oU&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

She has also gotten really good at sitting up by herself, well when she wants to anyways. Wow, that's a mouthful. They will be getting married in the middle of June. My mother-in-law passed away about a year and a half ago and my father-in-law is now getting re-married. I have mixed feelings about this. My mother-in-law was more like a mother to me and I miss her so much. She was one of those people that makes everyone feel like they are the most important person to her. She was hilarious and so much fun to be around.

(a few pictures of my MOM from our wedding)

I'm also happy that my father-in-law is happy and doesn't have to be lonely now. Emma had a fever, her first one ever, on Sunday and was so sick she slept most of the day. Now she has a cough which keeps waking her up while she is sleeping so we haven't gotten much sleep either. I got sick on Monday and Mike took great care of me. He let me sleep most of the day away while he took care of Emma and the house. I feel a lot better now except for the cough. Poor Mike got sick last night and then had to go to classes today. Here is a picture of our poor sick little girl. Doesn't she look sad?

Emma has started talking a lot these days (just baby talk) and it is sooo cute! She just started today saying dadadada. haha. She goes on and on. She also says nananana when she is mad about something. She also loves water bottles a lot and she loves to get little drinks of water from mommy's. She gets so excited whenever she sees it.

She likes to play with any bottle though so Mike let her have his left overs. I just found these recipes this weekend for Thin Mints and Samoas (my 2 favorites!) online. I tried out the Samoas this weekend and they are awesome! I'm going to try the thin mints out soon but if anyone tries them out first let me know how they turn out! If only I had known about these recipes when I was pregnant and craving girl scout cookies and there were no girl scouts to be found.

Sitting up and rolling over

I finally got around to putting some videos of Emma on the computer. So here they are. The first one is of her sitting up on her own which she is getting pretty good at. She falls over pretty fast in the video but she can sit for a lot longer when she wants to. The second one is her rolling over. She is so funny because when she gets on her stomach and wants to move forward she just starts kicking her legs really fast. haha. It doesn't get her anywhere but it is pretty cute. type='text'>Just a ramble

I guess not much has happened recently but it feels like life has been so crazy. Next week Mike has an interview for a possible internship so hopefully that goes well. I get to go home for all of next week. It feels like I was just down there but I get to go back because we found tickets for really cheap through Jet Blue. If you are planning on traveling (I think they only fly inside the U.S.) anytime soon, check them out! I love to go see my family but I really hate traveling by myself with Emma. She's been pretty good ever time we've flown but it's so stressful to have to juggle everything and hope she is not in a bad mood and all that good stuff. I am soo excited to be able to see my family again though!

Emma has started squealing pretty much as loud as she can. She does it whether she is happy or sad and I think she just likes to hear her voice. It's pretty cute at first but after about 15 min. it starts getting old and then after 3 hours you can feel your eardrums splitting. haha. She thinks it is great, though I'm sure our neighbors don't think so. She has also started putting things in her mouth and then letting go of them with her hands so that whatever it is just hangs there from her mouth. It's pretty funny. Here's a picture of her doing it with a burp rag:

For Christmas Emma's grandpa got her a piano that hangs at the foot of her crib so that she can kick it and it will play music. She loves that thing and will lay in her crib and just kick and kick it. There is a chicken at the top though that moves and she tends to aim for that instead of the piano keys.

We propped her up with pillows so that she could actually see the piano but she is just as happy to kick it laying on her back.

My little brother gets home from his mission in about 4-5 months and I'm sooo excited. I can't wait to see him again. Well, that's about it. Not to many blog worthy things happen these days I guess. I'll have to work on making my life a little more interesting :-)

Just an update

I meant to write about this before but I forgot. About a week ago Emma started rolling all around the living room finally. She can roll from front to back and back to front but seems to have given up on rolling front to back recently. This is soo annoying because she hates being on her stomach and freaks out and starts crying and flailing her arms. So I roll her back over and within seconds she's rolled herself back onto her stomach. gah! It's a good thing she's cute! haha. I need to put a video up of her rolling but I haven't gotten it onto the computer yet.

She has also started trying to blow rasberries. It is pretty funny and cute because she sticks her tongue out but automatically it curls up her lip which doesn't exactly work for blowing rasberries. If you blow one at her though she sticks her tongue out and blows. This usually results in drool down her chin but she thinks it is hilarious.

On another note, I was just called as our wards new primary secretary. I am so excited to be in primary because I have always loved being in there better than Relief Society but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the calling. I don't feel like I will ever get the hang of it but I'm sure it will all come to me eventually. Hopefully sooner than later.

Well, sorry for todays lack of pictures. I will try to get that video up soon.

The rest of the trip

Emma and I got back to Seattle this weekend from our 2 week vacation in California. Mike had gotten back a week earlier. It's really good to see Mike again but now I miss my family a lot. I wish that we could live closer to them.

Since I haven't posted in about 2 weeks I just thought I'd share about the rest of our trip. On New Years Day we got to go swimming! It was so awesome. How often do you get to go swimming in January? My parents heated their pool for the one day so that we could go swimming in a warm pool also. We also took Emma swimming for the first time as well. She seemed ok with it but after about 15 minutes she was done. She loved to stick her hand under the little waterfall and play with it.

The water was like 80 degrees and it was so nice. We were able to get in and out all day.

Mike and I also got to go out on our very first date since Emma was born because my parents were so nice to watch her for us. We went to Chili's for dinner and then just walked around the shops. At Chili's I got the country fried steak and it was AMAZING. So if you ever go to Chili's order that! Yumm, now my mouth is watering for it.

The week after Mike left the kids had to go back to school and my Dad had to go back to work so I got to relax and go shopping with my mom that week. At first Emma was a little wary of all the new people. She wanted to be mostly with Mommy or Daddy but as the time went on she got comfortable with everyone. She even stayed and played with Grandma while some of the rest of us went to the driving range and she had a blast! She loved to have Grandpa rock her to sleep at night and would just lay there until she was out and all I had to do was take her up to bed. Darn I forgot to get a picture of that! Oh well... Emma loved her aunt Emily. They would play and play together and then Emma would fall asleep on Emily's lap. Here's a funny picture of Emma asleep on Emily's lap still sucking on her hand. (Sorry if it's a little fuzzy, it was taken on a cell phone)

While we were there we also took a picture of all the girls in our family so here it is:
Emma and Bekah weren't too thrilled at the time so we had a bit of trouble getting them to smile for it. The dog was also licking all of our feet so we were also having a hard time getting everyone looking at the camera. This one is kind of funny because we were all looking at the dog and Mom is trying to push her out of the way with her foot.

Well, now Mike is back in school and I am home with Emma. It's stinks going back to the everyday routine and having no one to talk to most of the time but oh well. It was the first Christmas that I spent without seeing my family. It was also the first white Christmas I have had. I have had snow around Christmas time before but I've always been in California on Christmas day but this year we stayed in Seattle. It was also Emma's first Christmas. She loved it! Her favorite part was ripping open the wrapping paper and then she just wanted to play with the paper and not so much the toys. Me and Mike and Emma all opened our presents first thing in the morning and then Scully (Emma's aunt for those who don't know) and Emma's Grandpa Hogsett came over and we opened more presents. Then we had the missionaries over and we had a big dinner. I am really looking forward to next year when Emma is a little older and more excited about Christmas. I missed all of the crazy chaos and excitement of all the kids this year.

On Saturday we headed down to California to see my family for my birthday and new years. On my birthday my mom cooked a yummy roast with potatoes and carrots and yorkshire pudding. It was very good. Since my birthday was on Sunday we couldn't do much for fun that day so on Tuesday we went to the San Diego zoo. It was so much fun! We took a bus on a tour around the park first because it is a huge zoo and that way we got to see pretty much everything. Then we walked around to the things that the bus didn't go to or things that we wanted to see again. I heard that it rained a lot and was frequently overcast. I even heard that it sometimes snows here and there but not very much. Well, I think Seattle must have felt bad that we were in such a new place and wanted us to feel at home so it decided to pretend it was Rexburg. Here are some pictures from my apartment window.

I do find it somewhat ironic though that we had church canceled on Sunday because of the snow that we got. I'm pretty sure that in Rexburg we went to church, school and wherever else in blizzards. Nothing ever shuts down in Rexburg but in Seattle we get a few inches of snow and everyone thinks it's the end of the world and wont leave their apartments. The one bad part about driving in the snow in Seattle is the hills which can be pretty slick at times. I do think that it has been very pretty to watch. I'm going to have to take Emma out in it and take her picture in the snow for the first time. She doesn't have a coat though (afterall I was told that it wasn't really supposed to snow here) so I'm a little nervous that I wont be able to dress her up warm enough.

On another note, Emma has started eating oatmeal cereal at night. I'm not sure how much she actually gets down but she enjoys it and tries to help us feed her. She has had a few small tastes of some fruit that we were eating. She LOVES banana.

Rolling over and Jumperoo

I'm so excited, Emma rolled over for the first time this week! On Thursday she rolled over from her tummy to her back and then on Friday she rolled from her back to her tummy. She only did each once and doesn't seem interested in doing it again but it gives me hope that she will sometime! haha. She has a doctors appointment (which I'm not looking forward to more shots by the way) on Monday and I'm so glad I don't have to tell them that she's never rolled over again.

On another note, Emma's grandma and grandpa Johnson got her the Rainforest Jumperoo for Christmas and she got to open in early because we will be leaving right after Christmas for 2 weeks and they wanted her to be able to enjoy it for a little while. She LOVES it! So really it's a present for us too since it gives us something else to entertain her with. She loves it so much that she wears herself out in it as you can see.

Mike put her in it this morning and didn't get the sound on quickly enough and she started to cry. It seems that as soon as Thanksgiving is over that everyone starts getting ready for Christmas and I love Christmas! Everyone seems so much more happy and willing to help others. It is such a fun time!

So, to start our holiday season off we went and bought our first Christmas tree on Saturday. We got a small one (5 ft) because our apartment is so little. It was so fun to pick one out and bring it home and set it up. We didn't have any Christmas tree ornaments so we went to the craft store and made a bunch. I found this cool website that had a lot of fun ideas for homemade Christmas tree ornaments. My favorite one is the wishing spool. We are going to make this one each year with our kids so that we can remember what was on everyone's Christmas list that year.

Here is our finished tree except for the star (we have the star on now but I don't have a picture of it yet):

And here is Emma putting up her first ornament:

So now we are pretty much ready for Christmas minus a few last gifts to buy. After Christmas I am sooo excited to be able to go see my family. I get to be there on my birthday since I don't get to be there for Christmas this year. We are probably going to go to the zoo for it (well the day after since my birthday is on a Sunday) and it will be the first time I get to take Emma. yay! I can't wait! Well, Emma is waking up so I gotta run.

Thanksgiving

So I just wanted to put this super cute video up of Emma on Thanksgiving. It is kinda funny but very frustrating when she wont stop doing it in the middle of the night. When she is going to sleep she likes to hold onto the binkie with her fingers tucked between the binkie and her mouth. This causes a problem because when she moves she yanks it out and then she starts crying that she doesn't have it any more.

This is the closest I could get to a picture of it:

After she takes the binkie out, the fists automatically go in. She always has to have something in her mouth and since she doesn't keep the binkie in any more then it is usually her fists or any toy she can get her hands on.

The other day we took Emma outside to help Mike with a group project so we had to dress her up all warm. We put her beanie on her (she looked like a gangster with just that on; it was pretty funny) and then we put her Pooh sleep sack thing over it. The sleep sack has a hood on it with ears and it was so cute I just had to take a picture.

A lady in our ward makes quilts for all the new babies in the ward. Emma wasn't born in the ward but since she was blessed in the ward she made us one anyways. It is beautifully made and looks like it would last forever. Here is a cute picture of Emma laying on it.

I really loved this picture. Emma has started cuddling into people now when we hold her. Here is her cuddling into her daddy. She looks so cute and tiny with him. People keep telling me "she is sooo small" and I just want to say, "have you seen her parents???". I know she is small but I really don't need to hear it from everyone. She is plenty healthy and still in a good weight range for her age so why does it matter? haha, anyways, off the random tangent...

Well, that pretty much covers everything going on right now. She is actually 3 months old instead of 2 months like she was supposed to be. I was so scared to take her and I had to go by myself because Mike had class at the time of the appointment. It took a really long time in the office so by the time they got around to giving her the shots she was getting hungry and fussy. They finally gave her the shots and let me hold her while they were doing it. She turned bright red and started screaming as soon as they gave them to her. She wouldn't breathe for a little while which was making the nurse a little nervous. I was so sad for her that I almost started crying as well. I had to go out to the front desk to make a new appointment and it was a little hard to hear because she was screaming so loud. While I was making the appointment she just all of a sudden went to sleep. She was pretty fussy on Tuesday and then today she has been happier but kinda sleepy and out of it. We have to go in again next month for her next set of shots to get caught up. I have the appointment set up for the 22nd but I'm going to see if I can change it since that is only a few days before Christmas and I don't want her to be fussy for her first Christmas. I'm so sad to have to go through this all again so soon. It breaks my heart when I hear her screaming with pain.

We found out at the appointment that she weighs 11.5 pounds now. She's up 4 pounds since she was born. Everyone tells me she is really small though. It's not surprising though since I was always underweight as a baby no matter how much I ate. And if you've seen Mime then I guess you know she kinda got a double whammy. She is getting stronger now and can hold her head up pretty well when she's on her tummy but she hates tummy time so much that she starts screaming after about 30 seconds of it. At this rate she may never roll over. haha.

Well, I guess that is enough ramblings for today.

Flying with a 2 month old

wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.

I got to go home this last week with Emma to see my family. It was tons of fun. It was really nice to have some company during the day since I haven't seen a lot of Mime recently. Sometimes it is lonely sitting around basically talking to yourself because the baby doesn't respond back. I got to see my parents new house (which is BEAUTIFUL by the way) and swim in their pool. Emma got spoiled by her grandparents of course. haha.

I thought tht flying with her would be a little difficult but it wasn't bad! Everyone is super nice and helpful when you have a baby. On the way down we had a couple minor mishaps. While we were taking off Emma filled her pants so much that it overflowed through her clothes and onto my pants. We got that cleaned up pretty well but then I accidentally spilled my orange juice on both of us. That I just had to let dry. I just told her it was payback for pooping on me earlier. haha. The one thing that saved me getting through the airport was my wrap that I had made the week before. It really made me realize how much I would love to live close to my family some day. I almost didn't want to come back! haha.

Life can be hectic...

even when nothing is really going on.

So we haven't really done much for the past 7 weeks except take care of Emma yet I still can't seem to find time to do anything. When I do get time to do something my top priorities are usually: sleep, eat, clean the house, take a shower; in that order. I've really taken for granted how much time I have gotten to myself since Mike has been home most of the time since we've had Emma. Unfortunately Mike had to start work and school again this last Wednesday so now I'm on my own most of the time. I feel so lucky to have had him home for so long to help with Emma. It gets kind of lonely during the day now so I've been super excited for this weekend. Luckily Mike doesn't have any classes on Fridays so its been really nice to have him around again.

I'm really excited for next week because I get to go home and see my family for a week! woohoo! They've moved since I was down there last so I get to see their new house and I get to take Emma to meet some of my friends and family while I am down there! The only thing I'm a little nervous about is traveling and flying alone with Emma. She wont take a bottle still so I'm going to have to nurse her on the plane. To make it even worse, the only seats open on the plane were middle seats between 2 people. That could be interesting but I'm sure it will all work out. I just made a baby wrap to make it easier to carry Emma through the airport. I love it and it's so easy to use! I'll have to take a picture and post it on here of her in her wrap.

Well, until then here are some pictures I took of her recently:

I love the smile in this one
and I love her eyes in this one

Football first

Today we took Emma to her first college football game. It was UW vs BYU but we only made it through half of the game. I found it kind of ironic that the first football game at our new school was against our previous school (ok, I know we went to BYU-Idaho not BYU but since we didn't actually have a football team I adopted our sister school's).

Here are some pictures of us before the game.
(she wouldn't look at the camera for this one)

Here is a picture of us after we got home.
You may think that I was rooting for UW because of my shirt but I was a little biased towards BYU. I only wore the shirt to cover up my sweat stains from carrying Emma 2 miles or so to the stadium. The rest of the games I will be all for UW though. Mike told me I would get killed if I went for BYU but as it turned out, we were sitting by a bunch of BYU fans so I would have been fine! I wished that I would have worn my BYU shirt under my UW shirt so I could have flashed my BYU shirt when they did something good. Oh well.

It seems like in Seattle babies are a bit more of a novelty than they are in Rexburg. Does this surprise anyone? Yeah, I didn't think so... But it's kinda funny because no matter where I go with Emma I have comments like, "awwwww, a baby" or "wow she's so little, how cute!". She gets alot of attention, she's going to be so spoiled.

Wow, time sure flies!

I can't believe my baby is 2 weeks old already! It seems like it was just yesterday that we were in the hospital. I can only imagine how fast time will continue to fly. She is even sleeping 4 hours at a time some nights already. I am still loving being a mommy! My family is going to be here tomorrow to meet her for the first time (for everyone except my mom). I'm so excited to be able to show her off to them! Nothing too eventful has really happened recently, mostly because we are all too tired to do anything eventful but we have all been getting used to our new schedules. I do have to say I am SO grateful to have such a wonderful husband! I don't think I would have survived without him. He has given me so many breaks so that I could get some more sleep or just take a bath. When he is not giving me a break then he is usually helping with the house work. He is also so cute with Emma (she is going to be such a Daddy's girl). He has been so awesome, I love him!

Chunky Monkey

Well, tomorrow will be 1 week since our little one was born. We went to her first doctor's appointment on Tuesday which was pretty quick and painless. We found out that she had gained 5 oz in 5 days which is a lot for the first week. Today we went to the lactation consultant (after many tears) and found out that she is now about 8 lbs. She is a little chubster. We were comparing pictures of her from the day she was born to pictures from today and they really showed how much weight she had gained.

Here's a picture of her from today:
She's gotten pretty chunky. She has started smiling in her sleep, it is so adorable. I love holding her, especially when she has her eyes open and is just looking around.

I've discovered today (now that a lot of the pain has dispersed) that I can touch my toes again. Wow, is that a crazy feeling! haha. I also realized that I can sleep on my stomach again, assuming that Emma ever lets me sleep in my bed again.

I have to say, I think being a mom is the best thing ever. It takes a lot of work and there are times that it is super hard but it is sooo worth it. I can't wait to be able to show her off to both mine and Mime's family, although I think I might have a hard time sharing...

She's Here!!!

Ok, well I guess I will write out her birth story now while Mike is holding her. So it all started Thursday night when we went into the hospital to be induced. We got there about 8pm and checked in and got the IV and everything. I was already contracting every 3 minutes on my own but they weren't painful and they had been going on since about Mon. The doctor didn't get there until about 10pm because he was busy with some other things before that. When he got there he put in the foley catheter and the nurse said she would take it out in 6 hours and hopefully I would be dilated more (I was at 1cm when I went into the hospital). About 45min to an hour later I was having some painful contractions pretty frequently so I called the nurse to talk to her about some pain relief. She checked the catheter and said that I was already 3cm and so it came out. At about midnight she got me an epidural for the pain and started the pitocin (it wasn't supposed to be started until the next morning because the foley was supposed to take a long time). The contractions kept coming and getting stronger but I couldn't feel them, thank goodness for epidurals! At about 4am I was 4cm dilated. In the morning at around 8am the doctor came in and broke my water and said I was at a stretchy 6cm so he would probably see me around noon. Our nurse came in around 9:45am because I was having problems with the epidural and I was starting to feel the contractions again. The anesthesiologist came in and fixed it so that it worked again (thank goodness, he was just in time). At about 10am she said she would check me in an hour and see how I was doing. Almost as soon as she left the room I felt like I needed to go poop with every contraction. So I called the nurses station and the conversation went something like this.

nurse: "what can I do for you?"
me: "umm, I kinda feel like I need to push"
click

haha, the nurse came into my room pretty quick after that. She checked me and I was at 9 1/2 so she started getting the room ready for delivery. She told me that since I was a first time mom I would probably be pushing for 1 1/2 to 2 hours and that they wouldn't call the doctor until she was about ready to come out. So she has me start pushing (about 10:10am) and is like oh wow she's gonna be here fast. After 3 contractions she told me I had to stop pushing because the doctor wasn't there yet. The doctor got there a few minutes later looking like he had run all the way there and let me start pushing again. 2 contractions later at 10:25am she was born. The doctor had me push her head out and then told me not to push any more and he worked her out the rest of the way so that I didn't tear. He had to give me an episiotomy so that I didn't tear in the front where it would be more painful and harder to repair. She had some fluid in her lungs so they had to suction it out and then they brought her right over and put her on my chest. That was the best feeling in the world! I was crying because I was so happy and Mike was trying hard not to also.

A couple hours later they came in and helped me take a shower and gave Emma a bath. I almost passed out in the shower but I sat down for a few minutes and was ok again. After Emma's bath they put 2 little bows in her hair which looked really cute. They asked us that night when we wanted to leave and we decided to leave Saturday night. They called me a prescription in for pain killers but by the time they actually let us out of the hospital all of the pharmacies were closed so I couldn't get my pain meds. It was a really long night but we made it and were able to get the prescription in the morning.

Emma had a bit of a hard time nursing the first day. She didn't want to suck but we just kept trying. Friday night she had a really poopy diaper and after that she ate like a champ. She's been doing great and is such a good baby. She doesn't cry very often and she sleeps pretty well although she doesn't really care for her bed as much as she likes to sleep on someones chest. Tomorrow she has her first doctors appointment so hopefully that goes well. I'm so proud of him. :) We went to the ceremony on Friday night. It was pretty nice and some of the speakers were really good. A couple of them could have used a few less minutes but overall it was good. The one really bad part was that apparently the air conditioning wasn't working because it was really hot in there, especially with the number of people that were packed in there. It was really exciting to see Mime get up and to hear his name read and everything. His sister and Dad came up too which was nice because I had people to sit with for the 4 hours of the ceremony. After the graduation we all went and got pie which was really yummy. Overall it was a great night! I can't believe we are done with the whole BYU-I experience and will be moving on to the next stage... grad school!

Here are some pictures of the night:
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; It's about that time in the semester when the teachers decide to pile on all of the projects and tests. I have a hard time dealing with people recently considering these crazy hormones and going to school makes it a bit difficult to keep away from people. I think I need a sign to wear around my neck that says something like "pregnant woman liable to bite your head off at any sign of stupidity". It would also help me if said stupid people also wore a sign around their necks just to let me know what I'm dealing with. I'm really glad that there is only one month left of the semester but it would be nice if it were over now. Well, I wasn't planning on this being a rant but it looks like that's what it's turned into...

In the beginning

Well, I don't have much to say seeing as my life is completely unexciting but I thought I would make an attempt to make a post anyways.

Starting a new semester is never one of my favorite things to do however this semester was even further down on my list of favorite things. Being in CIT classes as one of the few if not only girls in my classes has never been an easy thing for me. Seeing as how I am extremely shy at times and am also married, leaves me a little uncomfortable becoming friends with those of the opposite sex. It is also a problem seeing as how most of these guys, if not already married themselves, have probably never been on a date in their life because tearing themselves away from their computers for more than a few seconds is almost life threatening. This makes them just about as uncomfortable as I am in acknowledging that the other exists. Well, to make this semester worse I am now 6 months pregnant so am therefore even more of a novelty to most of these people. I am probably the girl that these guys go home and tell their roommates about as if I was a headless chicken or something.

For this reason, among others, I am getting extremely excited to be moving out of the Bubble or as my religion teacher so fondly calls it, the Jello Belt. For one it will mean that this semester is officially over and I will not be going back to school any time soon. It will also mean that my little gummy bear will be here. Thirdly, it will mean that I will be living in a city that has more than a Walmart and a bunch of mormon college students in it. Luckily this change is now only a few months away. Unfortunately, I am probably going to be freaking out about moving with a 2 week old baby and hoping that everything will be packed and cleaned before we have to leave.
